Visit a historic pioneer homestead.

This hike is best in April and early May when the wild flowers and grasses are at their peak.  From trailhead, head up an abandoned and overgrown dirt road that angles to the south.  At the top of the ridge, look for the gate with the sign Brick House CYN. Follow the road down the next drainage.  Within a half mile you will see the homestead below.  Built in the early 1900's from bricks made and fired on site, the Lucas Homestead makes a great educational destination for kids!  2.6 miles round trip.  Moderate hike.
